Inside Bleecker Street Records
For the first fourteen years Foods of NY Tours would stroll by Bleecker Street Records pointing out the wide range of records for sale, new and old. It was one and still is, one of the premiere record stores in Greenwich Village. But when they lost their lease and had to move away from their namesake street, everyone thought all would be lost. But the music lives on! Although the street name is now a number, West 4th st. is happy host to this legendary shop. You may be entering one block away, but once inside you are instantly transported back to Bleecker st. This article spins casual conversation and classic photos of the new shop, but reminiscent of the old one…now a Starbucks.
